「解釈」
浄蓮華院の長老智林がお出でになった。祈祷巻数等を持参してくれてたいそう満足だ。縁起のよい夢のことについてお話になった。先日内大臣に任官の祈念のために七日間吉田神社に参拝した。そこで、鹿二頭が神宮寺の経蔵辺りに出現した夢を見た。今後きっと任官の望みは叶うはずだという、神仏が願いに応えてくれた奇瑞であるという話だ。

「浄蓮華院」
─左京区大原来迎院町。天台宗延暦寺の別院である来迎院の塔頭。融通念仏の開祖良忍が創立した。
「吉田社」
─左京区吉田神楽岡町。皇城鎮守二十二社の第十七位。藤原山陰（一条天皇の外祖母が山陰の孫）が藤原氏の氏神である春日神社の四神を勧請して創建した（『中世諸国一宮制の基礎的研究』）。
「任槐」
─太政大臣・左大臣・右大臣のいずれかに任じられること。ただし、この時は、内大臣の任官を望んでいたようです（「万里小路時房略年譜」『建内記』十、参照）。
